How it works

One team. One clock. Zero lectures.

Your manager creates a team code, the team gathers around a screen, and the clock starts. Each round is a realistic incident to investigate and solve. Every answer feeds your organisation's risk picture.

01
Form your team

Teams of two to six work best. Get a team code from your manager, or run it live for the whole organisation at once.

02
Investigate the scenario

Analyse the emails, messages, systems and clues in front of you. Something doesn't add up, and the clock is running.

03
Solve the puzzle

Agree an answer as a team and unlock the next round. Wrong answers and hints cost time, so choose carefully.

04
Learn what happened

Each round ends with a breakdown of the incident: what the attacker did, what gave it away, and what to do next time.

Ways to play

On-demand, live, or in person.

The same escape rooms, three ways to run them. Start self-paced, gather everyone for a live session, or bring a cyber expert to your event.

For managers

See the whole risk picture, not just scores.

Every round a team plays maps to a risk theme. The dashboard shows where your organisation is exposed, which teams need another run, and how your position improves over time.

Risk exposure by theme: phishing, passwords, ransomware, data handling
Staff roster with training coverage, synced from Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
Live sessions for team meetings, with every team playing the same round at once
Certificates for completed teams: shareable, verifiable, audit-friendly

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What exactly is Cyber Escape?

Cyber Escape is a timed, escape-room-style cybersecurity training exercise. A team of two to six people works through realistic incident scenarios (spotting phishing emails, responding to a locked screen, handling a data leak) against the clock, from any browser. It replaces the annual security lecture with a session your team will actually remember.

How long does a game take?

Most teams finish in 30 to 50 minutes. Games vary in length: some are quick drills of a round or two, others are full five-round investigations. Wrong answers and hints add time penalties, so the final time reflects how confidently the team handled each scenario.

Do we pay per person?

No. Pricing is per team, not per seat. One credit starts one team of up to six people. A ten-credit pack covers ten team play-throughs, however you group your staff.

Does it need any IT knowledge?

None. The scenarios are about everyday judgement: a suspicious invoice, an odd phone call, a link that doesn't look right. If your team can use email, they can play. There's nothing to install; it runs in the browser, on any device.

Can the whole organisation play at once?

Yes. Live mode lets a host run every team through the same rounds simultaneously, which is ideal for team meetings. Teams see the same scenario at the same time, and a live leaderboard keeps score.

Can we run it in person?

Yes. The in-person Cyber Escape Room is hosted live at your venue by one of our expert facilitators and delivered as a shared competitive challenge, with cyber incident briefings and a facilitated learning debrief. It's perfect for conferences, away days and team events, starting at £1,500.

Can the games be customised?

Yes. Cyber Escape can be tailored specifically to your organisation, from branded puzzles to fully bespoke cyber incident scenarios that reflect your company's systems, risks and learning objectives. Talk to us about what you'd like your team to learn.

What do managers get out of it?

Every answer feeds a dashboard: a risk score by theme (phishing, passwords, ransomware, data handling), which teams need another run, staff training coverage, and completion certificates that are shareable and verifiable. Useful evidence for insurers and audits.

How does staff tracking work?

You can sync your staff list from Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace in a couple of clicks (or add people manually), then see exactly who has trained and who hasn't.

Is our data safe?

Yes. Players join with a team code, so no personal accounts are needed to play. Your data is held in the UK/EU, encrypted in transit and at rest, and never shared. Cyber Escape is built by Veterinary IT Services, specialists in IT and cyber security.
